The fix

How a refrigerator ice crusher works

We checked the solenoid coil for continuity with a multimeter and confirmed it had failed, then checked the wiring harness to the solenoid so a new part would not fail for the same reason. The wiring was fine, so the solenoid was replaced on the spot.
Why we reset the refrigerator control
After the repair we cut power to the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
