St. Charles appliance repair for homes, rentals and seasonal properties

Turn off power, free it with the hex key underneath, press the reset button and run cold water. If it leaks from the bottom, the internal seals have failed and the unit usually needs replacing. Is your oven running hot or cold?

Rental guests and home cooks often blame a recipe when the oven is off temperature. Place an oven thermometer on the center rack, preheat to 350°F and wait 20 minutes. Take three readings ten minutes apart and average them, because ovens cycle above and below the set point. If the average is within about 15°F, the oven is fine. Many digital ovens allow a small offset adjustment in the settings menu. A larger difference, or an oven that will not reach temperature, usually needs a sensor or igniter test.
