Winter in Minnesota is here, bringing plenty of snow and cold temperatures. From skiing and snowboarding to ice fishing and ice skating, the city has it all. And for those who love gliding on ice, Rochester’s outdoor and indoor rinks are the perfect places to skate!

- Time: Saturdays & Sundays, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Skate Rentals: Available at the Soldiers Field Rink East Warming House starting January 4, 2025 (and every weekend until February, weather permitting).

Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks
The Rochester MN Parks & Recreation Department maintains a number of outdoor rinks throughout the city. These rinks are open for the 2024-2025 season, with conditions dependent on weather. Skating on these rinks typically runs from mid-December to late February/early March.

- Rochester Figure Skating Club offers Learn2Skate and Learn2Skate for Hockey classes for all ages and skill levels.
- Olmsted Medical Center’s Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance Program provides Hockey Skills Training and Hockey Ultimate Training (HUT) to improve skating techniques while reducing injury risk.
